Cheetahs

We encountered Eleanor and her six cheetah cubs in the Serengeti near Ndutu on our 2008 trip to Northern Tanzania. We observed from afar as her cubs trailed along in the grass behind her, and as she stalked and killed a young Thompson’s Gazelle. Our vehicles then repositioned near by, we watched their mid morning feast, mom ever on the alert for marauding hyenas while vultures circled overhead. Two years later in the same area, we encountered what were said to be four of the now adult cubs, a lone female hunting in the early morning and later in the day three brothers who had made their own kill.
